The yearly rent for a large plot is £50 and a small plot is £40 payable at the end of October for the forthcoming year. You will be sent an invoice and will include details of how to pay online or in person. A deposit will also be required at a cost of the yearly rent when you give up your allotment and it is in clear and in good order then this will be returned.
Once you have registered your interest using the contact form you will be added to the waiting list. Once plots come available you will be contacted by the committee to arrange a viewing on available plots.
When you become a tenant you will be provided with a key to the main Gate. Please make sure you always lock the gate to maintain site security. For initial viewing of the site a committee member will meet you at the gate at a prearranged time.
If you have pre-approved deliveries to site e.g. manure, then you must ensure that you are there to accept delivery and open the gate, please do not distribute keys.
Yes you can bring a vehicle on the site but please be aware that you do so at tour own risk. The allotment association nor the land owners accept any responsibility for any type of damage caused.
Please note the speed limit is 5 MPH
The committee carry out continual surveillance of the site and all the plots on it. In principle this consists of a more formal inspection no less than twice a year.

Yes they are there for anyone to use completely free. There are 3 sites where they are around the site. Digging with a fork works best for getting then in to a wheel barrow.
Yes bonfires are allowed but please see the site rules section. Please be considerate to other plot holders regarding smoke, do not leave unattended and have adequate means to extinguishing the fire close to hand. Do not burn plastic.
Site wide bans on fires do come in to affect in summer to protect the farmer’s fields, burning during a fire ban could result in the termination of your tenancy. The committee reserves the right to ban fires at any time.
Yes you can have a temporary greenhouse shed or poly tunnel which must be kept safely maintained.
You can have fencing around your plot to help keep away pests that like to feed on you vegetables, solid must be no more than a meter high mesh and trellis no more than 1.5 meter. You must not use barbed or razor wire.
The allotment association is responsible for the hedge boarding the farmers field to the east of the site also the hedge either side of Hawthorn Way
Plot holders need to keep any hedges around their site cut tidy and not to create large shadows onto other plots.
Plot holders whose use of these paths are responsible for keeping them clear and tidy.
The committee will arrange work party’s, tasks dates and times will be posted on the Gate and notice board, please come along and join in we meet on the communal plot many hands make light work.
If you have too much of something which is ready to harvest and need to harvest all at once , consider other ways to ensure that it does not go to waste. Offer to family friends colleagues and neighbours on the community plot we have a swap shop that you are welcome to give and take from.
If you contact a committee member they can arrange for a replacement for small fee.
